Small town prairie life is the heart and soul of Brady Enslen's music. His songs and lyrics embody the nostalgic simplicity of growing up in rural Alberta; his steady-going guitar playing and accessible melodies create a backdrop for lyrics that are honest and meaningful. Brady's sincere presence engages listeners young and old, and makes one feel right at home.
His debut album Beautiful Things was recorded mostly live off the floor in Winnipeg, Manitoba throughout February 2015 with a handful of talented, local musicians. The album was produced by Scott Nolan and engineered, mixed, and mastered by Jamie Sitar (Outta Town Sound). Beautiful Things is songs from the road, of love and innocence, trains, geography and whiskey. It's all in here, the good stuff.
"It's an impressive debut by any fair reckoning." - Alan Kellogg, Penguin Eggs Magazine
"From the gentle, rolling "Drive" to the lush vocal harmonies and strings on the title track to the saloon-friendly blues of "No Whiskey for Mama" and finally, the sweeping, melancholic closer "Drags of Sunset," Enslen delivers a rich collection of heartfelt songs about the land of wheat and whiskey." - Exclaim!
"Enslen has produced a fantastic album and fully deserves nothing but praise for his work. If you like folk music, this is the album for you." - Nexus Newspaper Album Review
"Brady Enslen has created a brilliant disc, one that is entirely enjoyable on its own merits, but one that also hints at greatness to follow. Folk, country, Americana, singer-songwriter…however label it, Beautiful Things is a success." - Fervor Coulee
